The Wrestler is a film I have been aware of for sometime and have been tracking with growing anticipation. Every time I came across a review for the film or an interview, I heard the same thing: great film, great performance by Mickey Rourke, possibly Oscar worthy. After watching this trailer I can for the first time see why. I have been a big fan of Darren Aronofsky‘s work. I was lucky enough to see Requiem for a Dream in theater, then I watched Pi, saw The Fountain in theater then read his original script for the film (too bad that didn’t get filmed) in graphic novel form. With The Wrestler, Aronofsky may be made a household name. For his alreadey established fans like myself, its another notch on a great belt.
