TV Review: DEXTER: Season 5, Ep. 2: Hello Bandit

Dexter season 5, episode 2 – entitled Hello Bandit – keeps the momentum from the first episode of the new season. Dexter (Michael C. Hall), the full time dad is now in session. Dexter’s nature, his need, and perception are always there though he tries hard to suppress them. His need versus his responsibilities to his children are at war with each other. Even his father can not steer Dexter away from his need to kill.

As that saga begins so does a decapitation case at the police that brings in beat cop. Aster (Christina Robinson)’s angst and lose yet again carries most if not all of the scenes she is in, including her reunion with her old house. Its sad that she and her brother (Preston Bailey) had a dream that is now destroyed but the fact that Dexter actually misses them when their gone, seeing it in his face when they leave, made the ending more impactful.

Dexter really wanted Boyd Fowler (Shawn Hatosy) not to be a killer but the signs were too bountiful to be ignored as is want Dexter found at the end of the episode.
