The group appears to be trapped at the start of the episode. Annalise Keating’s (Viola Davis) conclusion that their blackmailer was bluffing about turning sensitive video of them over to the police turned out to be completely wrong, with their antagonist stalking and recording more footage of them seemingly at will. Making the most of these precarious circumstances, Annalise offers to turn over the footage to the authorities herself in exchange for immunity for her and her students. Her back and forth with the Assistant District Attorney over the terms of her cooperation is one of the highlights of the episode, with her expertly standing her ground and finally blackmailing him to give in to her demands after he tries to search her house without a warrant.

The anxiety hanging over the Keating Five is put to effective use as well. The very real possibility that Philip Jessup is back and could kill them at any moment informs their behavior the entire episode, with Michaela (Aja Naomi King), Laurel (Karla Souza), Connor (Jack Falahee), and his boyfriend Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) all staying at a dinosaur suit-clad Asher’s (Matt McGorry) place to evade the vengeful serial murderer. Tension still remains between them, as seen when Michaela suggests Connor won’t be able to transfer to Stanford, but the crisis they are attempting to weather keeps them together.

The only person who isn’t worried about Philip is Wes (Alfred Enoch), and that’s because he’s too preoccupied with putting together what happened the day his mother Rose (Kelsey Scott) died. Upset by Annalise’s secretiveness and outright dishonesty over the case Rose was involved with and her relationship with her, he decides to go to Eve Rothlow (Famke Janssen), an ICE operative who took Rose into custody and was once Annalise’s lover. While it seems (for the moment anyway) that Wes did not kill his mother, viewers can only speculate what Rothlow will reveal to Wes in the next episode of How To Get Away With Murder.

**** We hired Reggie, fulfilled our obligations to him, and he quit in the middle of covering two TV series w/ no notice and no explanation. He then ignored our emails asking him to complete his coverage (we had no one else to cover those TV shows). He didn't care. We regret hiring him and we regret putting our trust in him. **** An aspiring writer, longtime film junkie, and former UCLARadio.com disc jockey (where I graduated with a BA in Political Science), I've made the jump from penning book reviews and current events editorials for HonorSociety.org to writing movie and TV news and reviews. When I'm not working towards my certificate in Radio and Television/Video Production at Fullerton College, I enjoy reading (horror, science fiction, and historical/political nonfiction are particular favorites), participating in my school's TV and theatre clubs, attending movie screenings, plays, concerts, and other events, and trying to come up with pithy things to say on social media. Believe it or not, there are occasions where I find time to write for my own leisure.
