TV Review: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: Season 6, Episode 20: I’d Leave My Happy Home for You [The CW]

The CW’s The Vampire Diaries I’d Leave My happy home for You TV Show Review. The Vampire Diaries: Season 6, Episode 20: I’d Leave My happy Home for You, focuses on bachelor and bachelorette parties, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) still making up his mind and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Stefan (Paul Wesly) forming a brief alliance. Damon and Elena (Nina Dobrev) talk about the consequences of Damon’s offer; Enzo asks Stefan to help with Lily (Annie Werching).

With the possibility of deadly Heretics coming to dance and Elena exiting the show soon, now is the time for a set of parties. Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) going through the motions to tie the knot was an interesting way to take off some of the edge that has taken a toll on everyone. Things are rolling very smoothly for Alaric and Jo, you have to wonder if this calm is going to continue.

After all the trouble Enzo has given Stefan, I am amazed that he hasn’t taken his head off. Fortunately his past with Lily gives him a few cards to work with when dealing with her son. Reading into how much Stefan cares for his mother, I guess sending her back to the prison world is something he would never agree to. Just like with Caroline, he thinks he can save her. With both of them being rippers, it’s very surprising that is all they have in common at the present point. Lily is dead serious about reuniting with her Heretic friends. I’m surprised Stefan is also dealing with it like it’s no big deal. They have never encountered anything like this and now their mother is stuck in the middle. To further complicate matters…there is a possibility Kai (Chris Wood) may also be coming back as well if Lily gets her way. This is not something they should be taking so lightly.

Confrontation at the bachelorette party! Bonnie (Kat Graham) has been abused so much that I would think if she got into it with anyone she would kill instantly. When her and Lily lock horns for a moment, I was surprised she allowed her to walk away from the fight. Another interesting side of Lily is revealed when she attempts to focus her frustrations on Jo…and finds out she is with child. This is confusing but I’m sure as these last episodes unwind it will become clear. Lily is the same person who can’t connect with Stefan or Damon…but has compassion for Jo being pregnant. Crazy.

Finally the moment we have been waiting for is answered. Elena takes the cure and to our surprise…it works. She is once again a human and the compulsion that made her forget things is also gone. Well, that’s the good side. The bad side is she can be killed and with Lily pissed that she took the cure…she comes knocking. Once again bonnie locks horns with her and this time Lily gets the better of it. I tell you, Bonnie is one tough witch. She has taken so much damage to her body this season.

While Damn leaves us wondering if he is going to take the cure, Kai is busy making moves of his own. If this plan he is concocting works…he will be able to return and will have the heretics with him. This is shaping up to be a very interesting finish.
