VOTD: DUNE (2010) CGI Opening Monologue

A CGI opening for David Lynch‘s Dune with the dialogue of Irulan (Virginia Madsen) has premiered online. This CGI clip was created by Pascal Blanche. In his animated piece, Irulan has been re-created into what looks like a Bene Gesserit, a spice addicted Bene Gesserit. Notice the blue within blue eyes. I love Dune, I have read all the books and part of the new ones by Frank Herbert‘s son. I wish Showtime or HBO would make a series out of the first book. One movie can not contain Herbert’s fantastic book. Ken Follett‘s The Pillars of the Earth on Starz was decent, so could Dune though I would hope it would be outstanding. Twenty-four episodes for the first book would do it. For those that want to know, this short was made with 3DSMax9, ZBrush, VRay, and After Effects.
