Plot Synopsis

What Lies Below‘s plot synopsis: “A 16 year-old girl returns home from camp and learns that her mother has a new boyfriend, one she intends to marry to, a man whose charm, intelligence and beauty make him look like he’s not human at all.”

Ema Horvath…stars as a 16-year-old girl who meets her mother’s new fiancee for the first time ever. After a few strange interactions for which she can’t quite explain, she starts to seriously believe that he might be a humanoid creature of some kind. It’s “The Shape of Water” meets “Dirty John.”

Mena Suvari (American Beauty) stars as the naive mother, while Trey Tucker (The Space Between Us) is her mysterious new boyfriend.
