Asura: The City of Madness Trailer

Sung-su Kim‘s Asura: The City of Madness (2016) movie trailer stars Man-sik Jeong, Jung-min Hwang, Ji-hun Ju, Woo-sung Jung, and Do Won Kwak. Asura: The City of Madness‘ plot synopsis: “Detective Han (Woo-sung Jung), who for years has been secretly doing dirty work for the corrupt mayor Park Sungbae (Jung-min Hwang), is now pressured by a ruthless prosecutor Kim Cha-in (Do-won Kwak) to cooperate in an investigation against the mayor. Feeling trapped, Han persuades his young partner Sunmo (Ji-hoon Ju) to take over his work for the mayor, but things start to get tangled in unpredictable ways. As things are getting worse, only the most evil survives in this dog-eat-dog world.”

I hope the quality of this trailer is indicative of the film. This film looks great. Detective Han (Woo-sung Jung) existing between a rock and a hard place is an understatement. He is so dirty he is almost a hypocrite when he tries to be a policeman and do his job. From the trailer, the mayor is more of a crime boss than a elected official. Asura: The City of Madness seems like a good mixture of Narc and Infernal Affairs. Unfortunately, the film is only opening in limited release.
