Jodie Comer The End We Start From

Jodie Comer Comes on Board Danny Boyle’s Sequel Film

Now, Comer has taken on a principal role in Danny Boyle’s new science-fiction thriller sequel, 28 Years Later. Comer really stood out in terms of her film work in 2021. She starred in the box-office hit comedy, Free Guy, opposite Ryan Reynolds where Comer simply lit up the screen. Then, a few months after that film’s release, Comer proved a force to be reckoned with in a role opposite Matt Damon and Adam Driver in the highly praised box-office flop, The Last Duel. Both of those pictures positioned Comer as a true star. She backed out of Napoleon due to scheduling conflicts but has a role in the upcoming film, The Bikeriders. This role in Boyle’s upcoming sequel will test her ability to draw crowds at the box-office. Earlier this year, Comer did a great job playing in another science fiction drama film titled The End We Start From.

Boyle’s science fiction series started out with 28 Days Later in 2002 and the series continued with 28 Weeks Later in 2007. The 2002 movie made $45 million domestically and another $39 million internationally. The 2007 picture earned $28 million in the U.S. and Canada and just $36 million overseas but the passage of time has suggested that people are certainly eager to see a new movie in this bizarre but entertaining franchise.

Also cast in 28 Years Later is Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is in the upcoming movie, The Fall Guy which is destined to break records at the domestic box-office when it opens next week. Ralph Fiennes (The Menu, The English Patient) rounds out the trio of cast members that have been added to 28 Years Later which promises to be a science fiction event movie like no other with Boyle helming and Civil War‘s Alex Garland penning the script.

Jodie Comer is the type of actress who is slowly climbing up the ladder in Hollywood and will soon be a major star in her own right. Although many consider her a star already, a solid box-office result for 28 Years Later would help solidify the fact, to be certain.
