Box Office July 20-22, 2012. The Dark Knight Rises premiered in the Number One spot at the box office over the weekend with $161.8 Million. Ice Age 4 was Second with $20.3 Million. The Amazing Spider-man was Third with $10.9 Million for $228.7 Million so far.  Ted was Fourth with $10.1 Million for $180.4 Million so far. Brave was Fifth with $6 Million for $208.8 Million so far. Magic Mike, Savages, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection, Moonrise Kingdom, and To Rome with Love rounded out the top ten respectively.

The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan and the story with David S. Goyer. Based on the DC Comics character Batman, the film is the third and final installment in Nolan’s Batman film trilogy, and is a sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Cillian Murphy reprise their roles from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The film introduces the character of Selina Kyle, played by Anne Hathaway,[3] a cat burglar whose appearance in Gotham City sets in motion a chain of events that will lead Batman to come out of retirement and to encounter Bane, played by Tom Hardy,[3] a terrorist leader with plans to destroy Gotham City.
