GAMBIT (2016): X-Men Spinoff Gets Release Date

20th Century Fox Gives Gambit a Release Date for 2016. The X-Men spinoff Gambit is finally getting a release date. The film starring Channing Tatum as the title character will be released on October 7, 2016, which is only five months after the release of X-Men: Apocalypse.

The new release date for Gambit was followed by the good news that 20th Century Fox ended 2014 by earning $5.5 billion at the global box office. With the new release date scheduled, expect Gambit to start production soon with Channing Tatum set to star as the card-wielding Cajun native.

The comic book adaptation will be penned by writer Chris Claremont, with Tatum to produce along with Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Reid Carolin. Along with Gambit, 2016 will see the release of two other films based on the X-Men including X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool.
