The campaign, apparently, gets very dirty as one would expect. The Underwoods and the Conways want to win The White House and they will do anything to get it.

The enormous ego of Francis Underwood, whether it was always there or whether it grew as a result of his presidency, was on full display in this trailer. When President Underwood said “The American people don’t know what’s best for them…. I do,” this was a clear indication of that. When he continued by talking about an Underwood as President four years from the upcoming election day in the series, then four years later, then four years later, its was incredible. I believe he was talking about Claire’s reign but then President Underwood went on long past those possibilities into Vladimir Putin territory (i.e. holding onto power at the expense of democracy).

The strength of each season of House of Cards is that the unexpected happens again and again but not haphazardly. These incidents are built up over an episode, a season, or as we saw last season, throughout multiple seasons.

That looks as though it will continue with Season 5, especially since some storylines that lasted all the up to Season 4 were finished off, in one way or another, last season.
