Jack Reacher‘s plot synopsis: “In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But the accused man claims he’s innocent and says “Get Jack Reacher.”. Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense are immensely relived; but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused’s request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man’s guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.”

More on the Jack Reacher character and the plot of the film:

Lee Child‘s fan-favorite hero Jack Reacher. He’s a former military policeman who lives out his post-Army career as an itinerant who has a tendency to get drawn into violent, weird situations as he explores America.

This film is an adaptation of the novel One Shot, in which a sniper kills a handful of people in a midwestern American city, and while in police custody has only one request: “get me Jack Reacher.”

there was no shortage of consternation over the casting of Cruise as Reacher, who in Child’s novels is described as a hulk of a man

Jack Reacher also stars Werner Herzog, James Martin Kelly, David Oyelowo, Michael Raymond-James, Alexia Fast, Kristen Dalton, Nicole Forester, Joseph Sikora, Josh Helman, and Sara Lindsey.
