The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow ‘Shogun’ TV show trailer & photos  feature Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Franz Drameh, Caity Lotz, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Dominic Purcell. Guest stars include Stephen Oyoung, Christopher Naoki Lee, Mei Melançon, and Sab Shimono.

The Legends of Tomorrow time trip to feudal Japan (kind of a must, if you’re doing the kind of thing they’ve been doing).

Legends of Tomorrow ‘Shogun’ plot summary:

SECRETS AND NEW FOUND POWERS — Nate (Nick Zano) is shocked to learn that he has powers but then accidentally lands himself and Ray (Brandon Routh) in Feudal Japan. After Sara (Caity Lotz) convinces their stowaway Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), AKA Vixen, that Rory (Dominic Purcell) is not a murderer, they all agree to find Nate and help him master his powers in order to defend the Japanese village from the Shogun and his army of samurai warriors. Meanwhile, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) stay back to help fix the ship and find a secret compartment but decide not to tell the rest of the team what they learn.

Right. Draw your own conclusions, as to where some of the ep’s inspiration came from – and don’t everybody say the Trope Bucket, all at once, neither. It should also be interesting to see how obvious Gaijin get around the feudal Japanese countryside (y’know – back when that kind of thing was grounds for summary execution).

So before anyone going along whines “do we have to,” consider that Ray Palmer’s (Brandon Routh) Atom crashes in said setting; said setting’s Shogun steals suit (yet lets the Gaijin live, to later fight for it); all hands on deck, to clean up the imminent consequence of contaminating genres time periods.

Yes, we have to. Sometimes even superheroes have to play dress-up & pretend.

I’ll buy that for a dollar.

Two dollars, even.

Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) also gets superpowers, at a crucial point; but clearly the period play made for cooler pics, so look for the going powered bit in the trailer.

‘Shogun’ airs Thursday, Oct. 27, at 8:00pm EST, on The CW.
