MACBETH (2015): First 2 Clips From Shakespeare’s Play-turned-Film

Macbeth Clips. Justin Kurzel‘s Macbeth (2015) 2 movie clips (29 sec and 36 sec) have been released.

The film which was just screened at the Cannes Film Festival features Michael Fassbender as the eponymous tragic character and Marion Cotillard as his loyal wife, Lady Macbeth. Adapted from William Shakespeare’s classic stageplay, director Justin Kurzel (who is directing the 2016 Assassin’s Creed adaptation produced by and featuring Fassbender) seems to have made a very measured, cinematic film. This has been one of my most anticipated films of the year, and it’s great to hear nothing but positive news from the reaction at Cannes. The small glimpses we get through these clips only increase that anticipation, as they look visually stunning, and Fassbender seems to be in top form.

There is no release date yet, but the Weinstein Company will distribute in the U.S.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
