Maze Runner: The Death Cure Trailer
Wes Ball‘s Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) movie trailer stars Kaya Scodelario, Dylan O’Brien, Walton Goggins, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Katherine McNamara. Maze Runner: The Death Cure‘s plot synopsis: “In the epic finale to the Maze Runner saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze.”
Beyond The Hunger Games, I am not a big fan of the rash of YA trilogy films that popped up after the success of The Hunger Games. Every studio was trying to find the next Hunger Games, to cash in, and very few studios found what they were looking for. Maze Runner is one of the few YA trilogy films that succeeded and survived.
The first film in the Maze Runner series was an OK film. I have seen many scifi short films that completely blow that Maze Runner film out of the water. That being said, Maze Runner: The Death Cure looks as though it is the best of the Maze Runner films, fitting since The Death Cure is the last of the Maze Runner films.
From the footage in this trailer, it looks like a lot of lessons were learned from the previous Maze Runner films and the defunct Divergent film franchise.
Maze Runner: The Death Cure also stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rosa Salazar, Giancarlo Esposito, Patricia Clarkson, Barry Pepper, Ki Hong Lee, Jacob Lofland, Paul Lazenby, Dylan Smith, and Jake Curran.
