New TV Series: TNT gets AGENT X, CBS gets LIMITLESS Adaptation

Agent X and Limitless TV Series Moving Forward. TNT is moving forward with action drama Agent X and CBS is moving forward with a Limitless film-to-TV adaptation. Agent X will star Sharon Stone and Limitless will be produced by Bradley Cooper, who executive produced and starred in the film adaptation.

On Agent X:

The network just gave a 10-episode series order…for a premiere in the second half of 2015.

Written by William Blake Herron, Agent X centers on John Case [Jeff Hephner], a top secret agent hidden from the view of the public – and even from the President – who is trained and ready to serve, deployed only at the careful discretion of the Vice President (Stone). [Gerald McRaney] plays Malcolm Millar, the Chief Steward of the Vice President’s mansion and the keeper of its many secrets. “Agent X is a perfect fit for TNT’s expanding lineup of action-dramas,” said Lillah McCarthy, SVP of TNT and TBS Original Productions. “It’s a slick, high-energy thrill-ride with lots of twists and turns, big action sequences and kick-ass stunts.”

On Limitless:

CBS has handed a pilot production commitment to Limitless…Written/executive produced by Craig Sweeny, the series is picking up where the movie left off. It follows Brian Sinclair, the character played in the movie by Cooper, as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug enhanced abilities for good. The film’s helmer, Neil Burger, is set to direct the potential pilot.
