The 83rd Annual Academy Awards found Amy Adams nominated for an Oscar for Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for The Fighter arriving at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California. “This is Adams’ third Best Supporting Actress nomination, following Junebug (2005) and Doubt (2008).” The Fighter (2010) is directed by David O. Russell and stars Mark WahlbergChristian BaleMelissa Leo, and Amy Adams. The Fighter (2010)’s plot synopsis: “It’s a true story of two incredibly gifted boxers who were half brothers. The one, Dicky Ecklund, who fought Sugar Ray Leonard at a very young age, when he was twenty-one, was an incredible natural talent. He lived a very hard life.
