Netflix‘s Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 2 TV show teaser trailer stars Neil Patrick Harris. Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 2’s plot synopsis: “Season two of the Netflix original series plunges further into the epic world of this darkly comedic mystery.”

Season 2 will follow the storyline laid out in the first season (which adapted the first four books in the Lemony Snicket book series):

Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) and starring Emmy and Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris, A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death.

If everything follows a predictable path (think the Game of Thrones adaptations), Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events will adapt the fifth through ninth book in the Lemony Snicket book series.

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 2 also stars Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Presley Smith, Patrick Warburton, K. Todd Freeman, Lucy Punch, Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Sara Rue, and Roger Bart.
