SNOWPIERCER: Annalise Basso And Sasha Frolova Sign On [TNT]

Ed Harris Snowpiercer

Annalise Basso And Sasha Frolova Join The Cast Of Snowpiercer

Oculus actress Annalise Basso and The InterestingsSasha Frolova will play roles in TNT‘s upcoming TV adaptation of Bong Joon Ho‘s Snowpiercer.

First hitting theaters in 2013, the science fiction drama proved to be popular not only with critics but audiences as well. It earned a total of $86.8 million, which may seem like a relatively small amount of money going by the standard of Hollywood blockbusters but considering the Korean movie’s modest budget of $40 million, it was a relatively hefty sum. With this in mind, it’s hardly surprising that TNT has opted to expand the property into a TV series.

Basso and Frolova will act opposite series leads Jennifer Connelly and David Diggs. Basso is set to play quiet Midwesterner LJ Anderson, while Frolova will portray the mysterious Pixi Aariak.

Basso will next be seen in Screen Gems feature The Slender Man opposite Joey King and Julia Goldani Telles, and in a lead role opposite Maura Tierney in Philip K. Dick’s: Electric Dreams’ “Safe & Sound” episode. She’s repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum.

Frolova will next be seen in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming features The Empty Man opposite James Badge Dale, and Francis Lawrence-directed Red Sparrow opposite Jennifer Lawrence. She’s repped by UTA, 3 Arts, & Jordan Gill Dornbaum.

**** We hired Reggie, fulfilled our obligations to him, and he quit in the middle of covering two TV series w/ no notice and no explanation. He then ignored our emails asking him to complete his coverage (we had no one else to cover those TV shows). He didn't care. We regret hiring him and we regret putting our trust in him. **** An aspiring writer, longtime film junkie, and former UCLARadio.com disc jockey (where I graduated with a BA in Political Science), I've made the jump from penning book reviews and current events editorials for HonorSociety.org to writing movie and TV news and reviews. When I'm not working towards my certificate in Radio and Television/Video Production at Fullerton College, I enjoy reading (horror, science fiction, and historical/political nonfiction are particular favorites), participating in my school's TV and theatre clubs, attending movie screenings, plays, concerts, and other events, and trying to come up with pithy things to say on social media. Believe it or not, there are occasions where I find time to write for my own leisure.
