Summer Glau joins Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse

Summer Glau will be joining Joss Whedon‘s Dollhouse. The conjecture is over. Starting in DollhouseSeason 2, Summer Glau will have the recurring role of a character called Bennett on the show. Bennett is “a Dollhouse employee who shares a secret past with Eliza Dushku‘s Echo”. Some will remember the Grindhouse trailer for both actresses when Dollhouse and now deceased Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles aired last season on Friday nights. Perhaps that trailer was not a mere advertisement but a harbinger of the future. Summer Glau previously worked with Joss Whedon on the television show Firefly and its follow-up film Serenity. I was not happy that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was canceled, especially after its badass season finale or that Dollhouse was chosen for renewal over that show. Glau sci-fi casting news is always exciting though as is her re-uniting with Whedon. Who knows, maybe Whedon will pull a Firefly rabbit out of his Dollhouse hat this season. Dollhouse Season 2 will premiere on Fox at 9 PM on September 25, 2009.

I am glad that Summer will be in the new season of dollhouse.

  • I hope the next season of dollhouse is better than the first. Summer's hotness and acting ability help but…

yeah i know what you mean. The first season was a bit of Disappointment but loved summer in firefly. The problem with dollhouse its all over the place. I only hope joss can pull something out of the bag.

  • “All over the place” is an understatement. Ep.13 did not help matters much.

The thing is with TSCC it always had a constant you knew that everything that they done in theory was to destroy sky net. With Dollhouse I do not know what the agenda is but then this is quite typical of joss. If you think about it Firefly was sort of the same there was no real focus point but as it never got a second series who knows where else it could of gone. Maybe this is the same with Dollhouse its just building to something what that is who know?

As if another reason was needed to watch this great show…

    🙂

  • I would not call Dollhouse a great show. I would call Dollhouse a show with potential.

    Fair enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, though… even if it was a bit disjointed. 😉

  • Have you seen Ep. 13: Epitaph One?
