Peter Jackson‘s The Lovely Bones Movie Trailer has premiered and the film looks just as good, if not better, as I had imagined. Jackson obviously took great pains to bring The Lovely Bones to life correctly. I did not like the entirety of the book but it certainly had me in some parts, many of which are highlighted in the The Lovely Bones movie trailer below. The Lovely Bones synopsis (Spoilers if you have not read the book): “In 1973, Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan) is raped and murdered by a neighbor, George Harvey (Stanley Tucci), a serial killer of young girls and women. She finds herself in Heaven, observing her family as they grieve for her. She also watches her killer who, having covered his tracks successfully, is preparing to murder again. Susie struggles to balance her desire for vengeance on Harvey and her desire to have her family recover from their loss.” The song playing during part of the heaven sequence (I believe) is “Alice” by Cocteau Twins.  The Lovely Bones will be released on December 11, 2009.
