The Hunger Games Catching Fire Posters. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) Victory Tour movie posters have premiered for the Francis Lawrence directed film. If you have read the book this film is based on, you realize that these posters actually spoil a key aspect of the film. It is not obvious or in any of the synopsis for the film you have read. Its a subplot…literally.

An observation on these promotional materials:

these are pretty great posters — sleek, striking, and different enough from the other Hunger Games marketing materials to be attention-grabbing. I also love Lionsgate’s strategy of treating us, the viewers, like the citizens of Panem watching at home. The strategy comes with some disturbing implications, since most of the Games audience is either infuriatingly oblivious or desperately impoverished, but it’s a neat way of working in the film’s themes.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire‘s plot synopsis: based on the Suzanne Collins‘ novel, “THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”

I am just hoping that the special effects will be a lot more realistic looking than the first movie.

The Mutts and the fire chariot scene were bad. Agreed. The Game Makers room did look cool though.

  • Jay

But the first scene of the hunger games “modern world” as they have it in the movie looked so fake. i was highly let down by with the special effects. and also Josh Hutcherson. Hopefully he’s have a better dialog in this movie.

  • Rollo Tomasi

The rural world looked far more authentic. Agreed.

Hutcherson on the Flickerman show was his best acting in the film.
