THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. (2015): Four New Character Posters

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Character Posters

Four New Character Posters for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Have Been Released. The new film by Guy Ritchie has four new character posters. The Man From U.N.C.L.E.‘s core cast is made of Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander, and Elizabeth Debicki, all of whom now have their own, personal one-sheets.

I recently watched Matthew Vaughn‘s Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014). It’s a slightly cartoonish take on the slightly cartoonish, old Bond films. It’s a colorful, action-packed, somewhat satirical, but otherwise fairly straight ahead action-adventure movie. There’s a lot of violence, which we’re supposed to relish most of the time, and reflect on, analytically at other moments. The reason I bring this film up is due to Vaughn being Ritchie’s protege, both of them making films in the spy genre within a year of each other. Without a doubt, these two films are competing in my head. And for the first time since, perhaps, Snatch, I think Ritchie is the more successful one, here.

Of course, all we have is this trailer, and the character posters below. But you know what? That trailer looks like a film, while Kingsman looks like a cartoonish movie you’d watch on an airplane. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. looks like a proper, globe-trotting, action-adventure, buddy-movie – done properly.
