The Vampire Diaries: Season 6 Episode 17: A bird in a Gilded Cage plot synopsis: Damon, Elena, Bonnie and Kai (Chris Wood), all travel back to the prison world to save Damon’s mother while Enzo and Alaric (Matthew Davis) attempt to reel Caroline (Candice Accola) back in doesn’t quite go as planned when they realize they’re outmaneuvered.

Even after being told his mother is a ripper, Damon manages to talk Elena, Kai and Bonnie into taking a trip back to the prison world to save his mother.

When Caroline’s plan for Stefan backfires, she is left to clean up the mess. Enzo and Alaric, put the past behind them and team up to try and bring an out of control Caroline back but find themselves being outsmarted.
