The Wrestler Movie Trailer

The Wrestler is a film I have been aware of for sometime and have been tracking with growing anticipation. Every time I came across a review for the film or an interview, I heard the same thing: great film, great performance by Mickey Rourke, possibly Oscar worthy. After watching this trailer I can for the first time see why. I have been a big fan of Darren Aronofsky‘s work. I was lucky enough to see Requiem for a Dream in theater, then I watched Pi, saw The Fountain in theater then read his original script for the film (too bad that didn’t get filmed) in graphic novel form. With The Wrestler, Aronofsky may be made a household name. For his alreadey established fans like myself, its another notch on a great belt. Looks like Rourke’s going to get an Oscar for this!!!
Can’t wait to see this film.
Rourke has been waiting for a role like this for his whole career.
He passed on Pulp Fiction without even cracking the script. What a mistake that was. He would have had Bruce Willis’ role as Butch.
If he is as good as everyone says he is in this film, he deserves it.
Mickey Rourke is Awesome! I remember my gf Pauline from 20 years ago used to Drool over Mickey Rourke – i picked up a Mag for her with Mickey on some Motorcycle with this Fab Yellow Leather Jacket + yeah that definitely Got Me Laid that Night!!!

I can’t say I’ve seen many Rourke films, except for Sin City, Domino, Man on Fire and parts of 9½ Weeks.
Had only vaguely heard about this. Rourke’s performance looks moving. I watched Requiem and Pi on DVD, skipped Fountain b/c of the bad buzz. This I will not miss.

I hope you watched the unrated version of Requiem. The Fountain has its moments. I hope to be seeing The Wrestler soon.
I think it was the UR Requiem, seemed nasty enough to be. I’m keeping fingers crossed we get the Wrestler before February.
