Alicia Vikander Cast as Main Lead for Tomb Raider Reboot. Our search for a young Lara Croft has come to an end as Alicia Vikander as MGM has announced that the Swedish actress will play the young adventurer in the upcoming film reboot of Tomb Raider.

Variety reported that Alicia VIkander, known for her roles in Ex Machina and The Danish Girl, has nabbed the lead role. Even though Daisy Ridley was rumored to be in the running for the highly coveted role, sources have said that VIkander was “always in the driver’s seat”. Other actresses like Cara Delevigne have also contented for the role.

Norwegian director Roar Uthaug will be bringing the franchise to life in the director’s chair. Apparently, the film will be based off of the 2013 game, which focuses on Croft on her first adventure. What do you guys think of Alicia Vikander being cast as Lara Croft?
