TV Review: FRINGE: Season 3, Ep. 2: The Box

fringe-season-3-ep-2-the-box-header

Fringe season 3, episode 2 – entitled The Box – had more details about the doomsday weapon in the alternate universe. The fact that our side wants the weapon as well equals bad tidings in my book. The Oppenheimer allusion by Dr. Bishop (John Noble) was accurate. Only bad things can happen by our universe having that weapon, like the destruction of the alternate universe.

Alt-Olivia (Anna Torv) asserting her authority over “her” operation was a good character moment as was when she realizes that Reg-Olivia has a photographic memory and that it will be difficult if not impossible to mimic.

Seeing Erik from The Howard Stern show in the subway scene I knew was coming but was still a surprise to see the on-screen characters’ interaction. I wish he had a little more screen time. Hearing the litany behind that appearance made it far more significant.

I knew William Bell (Leonard Nimoy) was going to give Massive Dynamic to Walter. I knew it as soon as that will was being read. I can not wait to see Walter running Massive Dynamic with all of those resources at his disposal finally. Now he has similar resources to Walter-nate. Alt-Olivia will have access to those resources through her association through Walter as well. I’m looking forward to how this evolves.
