Netflix has delivered a ticking time bomb to teens and children who watch 13 Reasons Why. The content and thematic elements of the second season are even worse than we expected…We condemn Netflix for renewing its teen-targeted suicide drama 13 Reasons Why. The company already potentially has the blood of children on their hands from keeping this series – with its graphic suicide scene, its sodomization of a teen boy and a potential school shooting, among other adult content – on its platform for children to view.

Netflix Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings had this to say about the renewal:

13 Reasons Why has been enormously popular and successful. It’s engaging content. It is controversial. But nobody has to watch it.

Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why will be produced by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content for Netflix. The TV series is executive produced by Brian Yorkey, Joy Gorman, Mandy Teefey, Kristel Laiblin, Tom McCarthy, Steve Golin, and Selenza Gomez. Yorkey is also 13 Reasons Why‘s showrunner and creator.

13 Reasons Why: Season 2 stars Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Justin Prentice, Christian Navarro, Alisha Boe, Miles Heizer, Tommy Dorfman, Miles Heizer, Devin Druid, Steven Silver, Michele Selene Ang, Steven Silver, Ross Butler, Brandon Larracuente, Ajiona Alexus, and Sosie Bacon.

13 Reasons Why: Season 2’s plot synopsis: based on the book series by Jay Asher, “13 Reasons Why Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah’s death and the start of our characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed. A series of ominous polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.”
