BATMAN V SUPERMAN (2016): TV Spots, Movie Clip, Potential Box Office, & Screening Reaction

Ben Affleck Henry Cavill Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice TV spots, Clip, Potential Box Office, and a Earlier Reaction. New TV commercials for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) have been released as well as a movie clip, projections for the film’s box office performance, and the reaction from one person that the entire film was screened for recently.

The TV commercials are what the viewer expects, bits of new footage here and there, but the fight between Superman and Batman, obviously, is the centerpiece of all of them.

The movie clip is where the excitement begins. It features a part of the fight that hasn’t been seen before as well as the line “If I wanted it, you’d be dead already,” which has been heard before. Batman is a resourceful individual. Seeing him begin to use Superman’s own self-confidence is a harbinger (hopefully) of even larger strategic moves the caped crusader brings to bear against Kal-El.

Entertainment Weekly writer Anthony Breznican was allowed to see the entire Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film and tweeted his impressions of what he saw:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Box Office Tracking

The theatrical debut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is tracking well, but not as well as some had hoped. Premiering on more that thirty thousand theater screens world-wide, BvS is expected to open between $300-$340 Million. The United States release numbers (the domestic numbers) are the most promoted and looked upon by the causal movie-goer and the media in America. The domestic numbers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have the film’s debut between $120-$140 Million at over four thousand theater locations.

That is what I meant by “not as well as some had hoped.” Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is opening on Easter Weekend yet the PG-13 film is tracking at or around the premiere numbers of R-rated Deadpool.

From a numbers standpoint, if this domestic projection holds, Deadpool will actually have performed better with its release than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Deadpool cost a quarter of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s production and that is not even taking into account the marketing campaign cost for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Deadpool‘s gorilla style campaign was far cheaper.
