BEASTS OF NO NATION (2015) Movie Trailer 2: Idris Elba Molds Child Soldiers

Beasts Of No Nation Trailer 2

Beasts Of No Nation Trailer 2. Cary Fukunaga‘s Beasts of No Nation (2015) movie trailer 2 stars Idris ElbaAma K. Abebrese, and Abraham AttahBeasts of No Nation‘s plot synopsis: “A drama based on the experiences of Agu, a child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed African country.”

After directing the first season of True Detective, Cary Fukunaga can do anything. Or, rather, he should be left to his own devices at this juncture. Too bad the people behind the It remake weren’t on the same page as us viewers, because we would’ve likely gotten something immensely refreshing, significant, and authentic. What we’re getting instead is this film of African civil war and child soldiers starring Idris Elba, which, after seeing the trailer, sounds like a great deal.

According to Slashfilm, “Based on the novel by Uzodinma Iweala, Beasts of No Nation unfolds in an unnamed West African country ripped apart by civil war. Attah plays Agu, a young boy who is torn from his family and forced to join a guerrilla fighter unit. Elba is the Commandant, a ruthless but charismatic warlord who takes Agu under his wing and molds him into a soldier.”

Having rewatched True Detective and watching this trailer back, I’m impressed by Fukunaga’s eye all over again. The visuals alone here are stunning, and have already sold me on checking this out. Then you have Elba, and his truly perfect accent, as an imposing, powerful military figure who shepherds these children to battle. That’s something to behold, and I eagerly await this film.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
