Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain Joins Black Lightning

After The CW found it’s leading man for their upcoming series Black Lightning, now it’s revealed that the show has also casted his two daughters. Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain have been cast to play Jefferson Piece’s daughters Annisa and Jennifer.

Deadline first broke the news that Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain will be joining Cress Williams in the network’s next big superhero series. Nafessa Williams will be playing Piece’s oldest daughter Annisa, who is described as “passionate and quick-witted, balances the demands of medical school with her job teaching part-time at her father’s school.” Meanwhile, McClain will portray the younger daughter Jennifer, who joins a criminal gang and forces her father to come out of retirement to become Black Lightning once again. Nafessa Williams had a recurring role on Code Black and will next be seen in Showtime’s upcoming Twin Peaks revival. China Anne McClain has been known for her role in House of Payne and was on the Disney Channel playing the main role in A.N.T. Farm.

In the comics, Annisa and Jennifer would follow in their father’s footsteps and take on the names Thunder and Lightning.
