Box Office March 16-18, 2012. 21 Jump Street premiered in the Number One spot at the box office this weekend with $35 Million. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax was Second with $22.8 Million for $158.4 Million so far. John Carter was Third with $13.5 Million. Project X was Fourth $4 Million. A Thousand Words was Fifth with $3.7 Million. Act of Valor, Safe House, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Casa De Mi Padre (which premiered this weekend), and This Means War rounded out the top ten respectively.

21 Jump Street is a 2012 American action comedy film loosely based on the TV series of the same name by Stephen J. Cannell. The film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. It was written by Hill and Michael Bacall and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Casa de Mi Padre (English: House of My Father) is a 2012 Spanish-language American comedy film. The film stars Will Ferrell, Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna and Génesis Rodríguez with Matt Piedmont directing a screenplay written by Andrew Steele. The film has been described to be in the style of an “overly dramatic telenovela” and tells the story of Armando Alvarez, who must save his father’s ranch from a powerful drug lord.
