CHARLOTTE (2021): Good Deed Entertainment Obtains U.S. Rights for Animated Film

Animated Film Rights Acquired by Good Deed Entertainment

Good Deed Entertainment has picked up distribution rights to the upcoming animated movie, Charlotte.

A new animated film titled Charlotte has inspired much curiosity. This movie was influenced by a fascinating real-life Charlotte Salomon painting series called “Life or Theatre?” The film has now been acquired for release in the United States by Good Deed Entertainment. This picture will be released on April 22, 2022. Charlotte features an impressive list of big-name voice-over talents with the likes of stars such as Keira Knightley, Brenda Blethyn, Jim Broadbent, Sam Clafin and Sophie Okonedo, to name a few. In the French version of Charlotte, Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard (La Vie En Rose, Public Enemies)’s voice talents will be showcased in the title role.

Charlotte will be an emotional dramatic film about Salomon who is shown in the film as a young artist who overcomes tremendous obstacles to create a masterpiece close to the very start of the Second World War. The main time frame the picture will cover is between the years 1941 and 1943.

Charlotte was directed by Eric Warin and Tahir Rana. In the States, audiences will hear Keira Knightley voicing the German-Jewish Charlotte, the film’s main character who ended up being killed. Charlotte is a heroic character who takes on the adventure of painting her life story throughout the movie. Knightley (Pride & Prejudice, Laggies, The Imitation Game) is a two-time Oscar nominee who can currently be seen in the end of the world drama, Silent Night on AMC Plus. Knightley has an elegance and sophistication about her that makes one believe she will be perfect to play the voice of Charlotte.

The highly anticipated Charlotte has already received terrific notices. A Holocaust-set animated movie about art may seem to be very difficult to accomplish successfully but the picture has received praise that has been phrased as “beautiful” in reviews such as the one featured in The Hollywood Reporter, in particular.

Jim Broadbent and Brenda Blethyn are the talented and renowned voice-over performers for Charlotte’s maternal grandparents. Screenwriters Erik Rutherford and David Bezmozgis crafted the script for the acclaimed film which will hopefully be seen by a good-sized audience.

Good Deed Entertainment is known for their committed dedication to releasing quality pictures and it is likely this upcoming film will help them achieve much more notoriety. It seems Charlotte is a deeply moving, emotional portrait of the way art reflects life and is a film that many animation and art fans are eagerly awaiting.
