Chronicles Trailer. Josh Trank‘s Chronicles (2012) movie trailer stars Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Kelly, and Ashley Hinshaw. Chronicles‘ plot synopsis: “Three friends who gain superpowers from a mysterious substance turn on one another when personal problems arise.”
I have heard this film described as Cloverfield (reviewed here: Cloverfield (2008) Movie Review), Push, and Paranormal Activity mixed together and I have to agree. This movie looks like everything I Am Number 4 was not and the found-footage aspect makes it look even better. The experimentation aspect with the “powers” is very realistic and very cool. Unlike many superhero movies or movies where a character is imbued with special powers, the viewer clearly sees from this movie trailer that there is no happy ending for the three high school friends. In fact, one of them seems to go black, turning “to the dark side”.
Chronicles also stars Joe Vaz and Anna Wood.
