Deadwood Wrap-up Movie Officially Greenlit

It’s finally happening. After a twelve year wait, the Deadwood movie is finally moving forward. The Deadwood film will wrap up the lingering storylines from Season Three of Deadwood when the show was canceled by HBO in 2006. The screenplay for the Deadwood movie was completed years ago by series creator David Milch but the film was never given the go-ahead until this week.

All of the principal cast for the Deadwood TV is most-likely returning for the film, I doubt the film would be moving forward without them, with production beginning in late 2019.

Deadwood‘s plot synopsis: “1876. In the Black Hills of South Dakota lies Deadwood, a lawless town inhabited by a mob of restless misfits ranging from an ex-lawman to a scheming saloon owner to the legendary Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. The richest gold strike in American history provides the backdrop for HBO’s…drama.”

Deadwood‘s cast included: Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, Jim Beaver, Brad Dourif, John Hawkes, Paula Malcomson, Leon Rippy, William Sanderson, Robin Weigert, W. Earl Brown, Dayton Callie, Powers Boothe, and Keith Carradine.

The Deadwood film currently has no HBO premiere date set for it.
