EQUALS (2015) Teaser Trailer: Kristen Stewart & Nicholas Hoult’s Future Love is Forbidden

Kristen Stewart Nicholas Hoult Equals

Equals Teaser Trailer. Drake DoremusEquals (2015) teaser trailer stars Kristen Stewart, Nicholas Hoult, Guy Pearce, Bel Powley, and Claudia Kim. Equals‘ plot synopsis: “A futuristic love story set in a world where emotions have been eradicated.”

Emotions eradicated in the future. Bland colors. Sounds like Equilibrium, The Giver, and a few other films. What the former had going for it that the latter films did not was Gun Kata and the action sequences that it generated. Equilibrium had a forbidden romance, two of them in fact, but the film was about more than that. Equals seems to only be about forbidden love in a dystopian future, which isn’t a bad thing if done right, but very few films have executed to the point of being noteworthy.
