FilmBook’s First Year Attending Fantasia International Film Festival

This is FilmBook‘s first year covering and attending the Fantasia International Film Festival. I have seen articles and reviews from this prestigious film festival, now the 25th Annual Fantasia International Film Festival, on other websites for years. In 2021, I am proud to say that we are in attendance for the first time and we will be bringing you that coverage i.e. movie reviews from the festival.

There is an ever growing list of people behind the scenes of FilmBook that make this website and its coverage possible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and ever one of them for their tireless efforts on this website’s behalf.

As with any film festival, we will not be able to see and cover every film shown (a near impossible feat) but we will be seeing and reviewing a great deal of them. Those films include The Last Thing Mary Saw, Seobok, Caution, Hazardous Wife: The Movie, Agnes, Baby Money, Hellbender, Prisoners of the Ghostland, Yakuza Princess, Bull, Coming Home in the Dark, All the Moons, Ida Red, and many others.

On the Fantasia International Film Festival:

Fantasia International Film Festival is a film festival that has been based mainly in Montreal since its founding in 1996. Regularly held in July of each year, it is valued by both hardcore genre film fans, and distributors, who take advantage of the eclectic line up to select domestic and international films for release across North America. By virtue of the reputation developed over the last 15 years, this festival has been described as perhaps the “most outstanding and largest genre film festival in North America”.

This year’s Fantasia International Film Festival is taking place August 5 -25, 2021.
