Deadline reports that Academy Award-nominated Finding Neverland actor Johnny Depp has been cast as the lead in King of the Jungle. The planned film, which will dramatize the story of McAfee Antivirus program creator John McAfee, comes from Conde Nast Entertainment, Zaftig Films, MadRiver Pictures, and Epic Entertainment.
Arrested Development
CBR.com reports that Arrested Development star Jason Bateman has officially signed on for an additional, fifth season of the fan-favorite TV comedy. The actor broke the news on Friday when he indicated on Twitter that production on the next season of the show could start this coming summer.
Great News
Deadline says that Tina Fey is set to play a guest role on the second season of NBC’s new comedy Great News. The Saturday Night Live alum also serves as an executive producer on the series.
Gloria
Indiewire reports that Academy Award-winning Still Alice star Julianne Moore will headline the upcoming remake of Gloria. The original, Spanish-language film came from director Sebastian Leilo, who will also write the remake.
Untitled Studiocanal Thriller
Indiewire says that director Luca Guadagnino has been tapped to helm an as-of-now untitled thriller from Studiocanal. Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal are said to be in talks for the film.
