FilmBook is Looking for New Writers for 2016

Man in Suit Typing

FilmBook is Looking for New Writers for 2015 / 2016. The Spring 2016 TV season has begun. FilmBook is endeavoring to cover as much of that as possible. To that end, we are searching for new writers to buttress our growing coverage of primetime television. This is your opportunity to join the FilmBook team.

These are the shows that we are currently looking to be covered (in no particular order):

Mr. Robot, The Leftovers, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Limitless, Westworld, Lucifer, CSI: Cyber, Black-ish, Modern Family, Downton Abbey, Orphan Black, The Musketeers, The Black List, Shannara, Scream, Rizzoli and Isles, Reign, Beauty and the Beast, Jane The Virgin, Supernatural, The Originals, Scorpion, Teen Wolf, Legends of Tomorrow, Girls, Veep, Childhoods End, Into the Badlands, American Crime Story, Scandal, The Magicians, The Americans, Tyrant, Bates Motel, The Knick, Billions, Outcast, Banshee, NCIS, Zoo, Major Crimes, Aquarius,  Ballers, Suits, Wayward Pines, Heroes Reborn, Fargo, Manhattan, Salem, Halt and Catch Fire, House of Lies, The Bastard Executioner, Criminal Minds, Doctor Who, Person of Interest, Broadchurch, Madam Secretary, and Blue Bloods.

What we mean by “covered” is writing reviews for each new episode following their on-air premiere (within a two day – 48 hrs –  time span).

Consistency is key. Dedication is what we are looking for in new writers (along with their ability effectively convey their thoughts to the reader). You must have the time to commit to writing regular reviews on a weekly basis for the full season of a show.

We are not looking for re-cappers i.e. people that write what happened in a given episode. We are looking for writers that can review the events of a given episode, its actors, the episode’s themes, and all the minutiae that made an episode good, bad, mediocre, etc.

We are looking for fans of the television medium and the stories that it can tell. Are you that fan?

If you are interested in writing television reviews for FilmBook or writing TV show specific articles, essay, and editorials, please fill out the quick-to-complete form below:

*Note: The submission form will be kept open until we have a significant number of applicants. We will notify all applicants personally via email if their submission has been successful within one (1) week of the submission form being closed.

These writing opportunities are unpaid but you will be given the ability to publish and expose your writing to millions of people worldwide who search for the latest reviews for their favorite TV shows on the Internet.

Some reviewers will have the opportunity watch and review TV show episodes (season premieres, pilot episodes, etc.) before they air on television via screeners.

Press passes for festivals and comic-cons through FilmBook will also be made available.

Writers will also be given the opportunity to promote their accomplishments and career (a short bio, your LinkedIn page, Tumblr account, Twitter feed, Blog, etc.) through their very own Author’s Box at the bottom of each review they publish on FilmBook. You will also be listed on our ‘About Us’ page.

If your application is successful and you prove yourself to be a consistent and steady writer, you will be given the opportunity to write and cover additional TV shows not listed in this writers notice.
