Epix‘s Get Shorty (2017) TV show trailer stars Chris O’Dowd, Ray Romano, Gillian Vigman, Christine Elise, and Lucy Walters. Get Shorty‘s plot synopsis: based on the novel by Elmore Leonard, “The adventures of mobster-turned-movie producer Hollywood. Get Shorty is the story of Miles Daly, played by Chris O’Dowd, who works as muscle for a murderous crime ring in Nevada and attempts to change professions and become a movie producer, laundering money through a Hollywood film. Three-time Emmy award winner Ray Romano stars as Rick, a washed up producer of low quality films who becomes Miles’ partner and guide through the maze of Hollywood.”

Like Fargo, Get Shorty looks like an intriguing TV adaptation. I thought the violence of the film would be watered down in the TV adaptation but I was mistaken.

The ten-episode first season of the Get Shorty television show was created by Davey Holmes. Each episode of the Get Shorty television show will be one hour long. The book the Get Shorty television show is based on was made famous by Barry Sonnenfeld 1995 film adaptation. The film adaptation of starred John Travolta as Chili Palmer and Gene Hackman as Harry Zim. In the TV adaptation, Chris O’Dowd will play Miles Daly (renamed from Chili Palmer in the novel) and Ray Romano will play Rick (renamed from Harry Zim in the novel).

Get Shorty also stars Sean Bridgers, Kristoffer Polaha, Lora Martinez-Cunningham, Brad Carter, Megan Stevenson, Leana Lewis, Tracy Vilar, Mark Kubr, Jackamoe Buzzell, and Martavious Gayles.
