Pennyworth Season 2 Trailer, Premiere Date, and New Characters Revealed

Epix‘s Pennyworth: Season 2 TV show trailer, the official premiere date, and a listing of notable new characters have been released. Pennyworth: Season 2 stars Jack Bannon, Ben Aldridge, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Emma Paetz, Ryan Fletcher, Dorothy Atkinson, Paloma Faith, Polly Walker, Jason Flemyng, Pierre Bergman, Edward Hogg, Jessye Romeo, Harriet Slater, Ramon Tikaram, Simon Manyonda, Jessica de Gouw, and James Purefoy.

Notable New Characters

Simon Manyonda has been cast as Lucius Fox. The character is “a young American scientist, precise to the point of pedantry, deliberately calm, honest, and direct to a fault; he suffers no fools gladly. His friends would say he’s a man of conscience; his enemies would say he’s judgmental and dogmatic.”

Jessica de Gouw has been cast as Melanie Troy. The character is “a military orphan, who became a woman of the world far too young. She married a dominating older man, but with her wry intelligence and a sardonic sense of humor, she’s no submissive and gives as good as she gets. Introduced to Alfie as the wife of his former SAS Captain, the two kindred spirits have an immediate connection.”

Season Airing Breakdown

Pennyworth: Season 2 will be ten episodes long but will not air in consecutive weeks.

While Episode 2 will conventionally arrive one week after the premiere on Sunday, December 20, the following week, Sunday, December 27, will see a post-Christmas double drop for Episodes 3 and 4, which will serve as a quickly-arrived mid-season finale until the rest of the season arrives in 2021 on a date to be revealed.

Bruno Heller (Gotham, The Mentalist, Rome) serves as executive producer/writer and Danny Cannon serves as executive producer/director (Gotham, CSI series).

Pennyworth‘s plot synopsis: “In 1960s London, Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s billionaire father. DC origin story Pennyworth is a ten-episode, one-hour drama series based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), Bruce’s billionaire father, in 1960’s London.”
