Ghost in the Shell Trailer 2

Paramount Pictures has released the second movie trailer for Ghost in the Shell (2017). This trailer is the most exciting look at the science fiction action film to date. Movies with multiple plotlines co-existing, one on top of the other, are usually some of the best when the plotlines are balanced and fruitful. That has not been the case with many of the recent big-budget, Hollywood releases. That does not look as though it is the case with Ghost in the Shell. This incarnation of Ghost in the Shell benefits from an animated version released in 1995.

The producers of this film used that film as a template, a dry run if you will, keeping what worked in that film and changing what did not. This incarnation of Ghost in the Shell will probably be rated PG-13. With the amount of money that Paramount obviously placed within the film, and the fact that The Major (Scarlett Johansson) is not naked during key sequences like she was in the animated film, all signs point to that.

During this trailer, the viewer finally gets a good look at Kuze (Michael Pitt) and how he interacts with The Major. Kuze may want to destroy many things cybernetic but he doesn’t want to destroy The Major. Like Professor X and Wolverine, Kuze seems to know everything about The Major but he wants The Major to discover the truth about her past herself.

The first movie trailer for Ghost in the Shell is still available here and the Super Bowl 51 TV spot is available here.
