Gook looks like a striking and surprising well-executed film. The black and white of the film looks excellent. It makes the viewer concentrate on the film in a way that a color film can not accomplish. I had not realized before seeing this trailer that Korean-Americans were victims of violence and racial bigotry during the 1992 Los Angeles riots following the acquittal of the four police officers that beat Rodney King on camera.
