Gretel & Hansel‘s plot synopsis: “A long time ago in a distant fairy tale countryside, a young girl leads her little brother into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.”

In this version, teen actress Sophia Lillis (from “IT and “IT Chapter Two”) plays Gretel, a lost farm-girl who, alongside with her younger brother, Hansel, (Sammy Leakey), finds herself invited into the cabin of an old woman who turns out to be a terrifying forest witch (played here by character actress Alice Krige, from Amazon’s “Carnival Row” and “Star Trek: First Contact”).

Rob Hayes wrote the screenplay for the film.
