Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has released the third movie trailer Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Humor is the biggest selling point of this film and it is on full display in this trailer. The Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) moments were particularly humorous as was the space monster that fell from the sky.

It would seem the Guardians have a new foe to defeat and that foe has gold skin and feels that they must cleanse the universe. Sounds sort of like The Borg’s mantra.

The size of Gamora (Zoe Saldana)’s shoulder weapon is ridiculous. How strong is Gamora that she could hold such a weapon?

What most trailers don’t do, but what this one does, is blend the on-screen machinations in the trailer with the music being played e.g. Peter Quill / Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) dancing and spinning Gamora in-sync to the song playing.

I was glad to see Nebula (Karen Gillan) back into the mix but what role she plays – she’s handcuffed – in the new narrative remains to be seen.

The biggest surprise of the trailer came at its end when Kurt Russell showed up and made his announcement. There were rumors that this disclosure would occur in this installment of the franchise and this trailer confirmed it.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘s “Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 also Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Nathan Fillion, Tommy Flanagan, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, Sylvester Stallone, Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debicki, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn.
