INCORPORATED: Affleck and Damon Producing Syfy Series

Syfy Greenlights Series From Affleck And Damon. Syfy has placed an order for a new series by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck titled Incorporated. The series will be a drama that contains action, suspense and a dark sense of humour. Damon and Affleck will executive produce through their Pearl Street films banner. David and Alex Pastor (Selfless, The Last Days) will write the pilot and direct. Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) will act as showrunner and executive producer.

Damon and Affleck released a joint statement, offering a breakdown of the series

Incorporated provides us distinct insight into a world dictated by our decisions today. Viewers will delve into the intricacies of our future, one that we are constantly warned of, but as a society have not yet explored. We believe this is an important and timely story to tell and can think of no one better to guide us into this than David, Alex and Ted.

Syfy president Dave Howe had this to say,

Incorporated is an electrifying example of what science fiction does best: holding a mirror to present realities and projecting forward to a recognizable future in which we face the impact and consequences of our actions.

I look forward to seeing if Damon and Affleck’s Oscar winning pedigree will translate to television. Sci-fi stories have always existed on the fringes of what the public accepts as high-brow storytelling and we are long over due for a series that poses thought provoking questions while also being wildly entertaining and a rating success.

It’s been a while since Syfy has hit any home-runs but at least they keep swinging for the fences. Dominion, Z Nation and the upcoming Childhood’s End are all positive signs that the network is making an attempt to put out some solid science fiction.
