The adventure aspect of Jumanji is clearly on display in the released set image. Not shown in the set photo is Nick Jonas, who also stars in the film.

Jumanji will be directed by Jake Kasdan. IMDb credits the writers of Jumanji as Zach Helm, Chris McKenna, Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg, and Erik Sommers.

The new film version of Jumanji will be based loosely on the 1981 book by Chris Van Allsburg and 1996 film adaptation starring Robin Williams.

The plotline of the book Jumanji: “While their parents are out for the evening, Judy and Peter Shepherd, after playing with some toys, become bored and don’t know what to do so they go to the park. There they find a jungle adventure game called Jumanji, which seems to have been abandoned. They take Jumanji home and find a warning message: “Do not begin unless you intend to finish [or it will go on forever].” They start playing, only to discover that the game is real: any dangers encountered in the game spring to life somewhere in the house.”

It is unclear how the Dwayne Johnson and his company of characters will fit within the Jumanji but from the photo, they will be spending some time in the jungle.
