MONEYBALL (2011) Movie Trailer: Bennett Miller, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill

Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Moneyball, 2011

The Money Ball Trailer has premiered. Bennett Miller‘s Money Ball (2011) movie trailer stars Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Chris Pratt, and Robin Wright. Money Ball‘s plot synopsis: “The story centers on Billy Beane and his arrival as Oakland’s general manager. Through analysis and a new, nontraditional sabermetric approach to scouting players, Beane attempts to create a more competitive baseball team, although Oakland’s revenue system is a major disadvantage to the team.”

This looks good. Solid underdog story like Friday Night Lights or The Bad News Bears. Definitely counter-programming to all of the big budget, explosion films on the screen this summer.

This is the same adaptation that Steven Soderbergh was working on before getting kicked off…The screenplay was written/rewritten by Oscar winning writers Steven Zaillian (Clear and Present Danger, Gangs of New York, American Gangster) and Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, Charlie Wilson’s War, The Social Network), originally based on Michael Lewis’ nonfiction book.

Moneyball also stars Kathryn Morris, Glenn Morshower, Tammy Blanchard, Kerris Dorsey, Stephen Bishop, Adrian Bellani, Olivia Dudley, Sergio Garcia, Erin Pickett, and Takayo Fischer.
