Syfy has cancelled Alphas, the series about a group of people with superhuman abilities who team up to solve crimes, after two seasons. Syfy released the following statement:

“We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at Berman Braun Television.  We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”

Fringe

Hercules

Paramount Pictures has announced that director Brett Ratner’s Hercules will hit theaters on August 8, 2014. The film is an adaptation of Steve Moore’s graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, which paints the popular character with a darker tone. Dwayne Johnson is set in the title role as “a mercenary who turned his back on the gods following the loss of his family, ‘finding solace only in battle.’”
