The Mummy Trailer 2

Alex Kurtzman‘s The Mummy (2017) movie trailer 2 stars Sofia Boutella, Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe, and Jake Johnson. The Mummy‘s plot synopsis: “Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.”

This trailer makes The Mummy look very good, possibly better than the Brandon Fraser version.

This trailer is a gigantic showcase of the main villain in the film and how her storyline intertwines with the main protagonist, played by Tom Cruise. As is sometimes the case, Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella)’s backstory sparkles in a almost standard monster-out-of-time-period scenario. I really hope the film spends time in Ahmanet’s previous world, building that world and her character up before she becomes an undead demon.

The other key element of the trailer was Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) and his “condition” after a plane crash. I was not expecting that. I was also not expecting him to be so reckless when it came to artifacts and the chambers they were found in.

The Mummy also stars Courtney B. Vance, Javier Botet, Marwan Kenzari, Shina Shihoko Nagai, Solomon Taiwo Justified, Jason Matthewson, Noof McEwan, Selva Rasalingam, Dylan Smith, and Tyrone Love.
